Farmall fan from head to prosthetic feet

A disheartening situation that could put a damper on someone’s hobbies has done quite the opposite for one Forest City man, who as a member of a tractor club likes to attend shows like Pontiac’s Threshermen’s Reunion.
Jerry Tibbs, who has been part of the Chapter 10 club of the International Harvesters Collectors of Central Illinois since 1996, has proof of his steadfast fondness of the Farmall brand.

Paquette's Historical Farmall Museum in Leesburg chock full of restored tractors

LEESBURG — Paquette's Historical Farmall Museum is a Lake County original.

So unique, in fact, that it's featured on RoadsideAmerica.com, an online guide to offbeat attractions. On the site it's described as "an impressive, completely-out-of-nowhere private collection of Farmall Tractors and International Harvester machinery" displayed in a couple of warehouses "in the middle of Florida farm country."

In the world of vintage tractor collectors, you're either faithful to the red, or your fidelity bleeds green.

Red is the signature color of the International Harvester tractor, green the unmistakable calling card of the John Deere tractor.

"Us tractor guys, we have a kind of thing – like Ford and Chevy people have," said tractor enthusiast Bill Son, 74. "Me? I'm a Farmall guy."

Tractor auction revs up vintage rally

A 60-year-old restored tractor will go under the hammer at this weekend’s Laang Vintage Engine Rally.

The fully-restored 1940s McCormick Farmall Super A tractor has been donated by Warrnambool’s Ian Spikin and money raised from the auction and the gate takings will go to South West Healthcare’s palliative care unit in Warrnambool.

Organiser Brian Cockayne said the tractor had been restored by Mr Spikin’s late father Jim.

Case IH to Launch New Farmall U Pro Tractor

Comprehensive market research and field testing on a scale rarely seen before on an all-round Case IH tractor has driven the development of the newly-announced Farmall U Pro, a new tractor concept designed by Case IH engineers to meet the requirements of today’s mixed and arable farms.

During the tractor’s test phase, numerous European farmers were asked about their exact operating requirements. That was followed by customer clinics at which prototypes and concepts were tested early on for their practical feasibility.

Tractor History

TRACTOR HISTORY
At first glance, the International Harvester logo plastered on a sign on State Road 44 pointing to a nearby museum is just a black-colored 'H' with a giant red dotted 'i' in the middle.

To farmers and anyone well familiar with the tractor model, they know the 'H' symbolizes the back of the wheels and axle of a tractor. And the lower part of the 'i,' the body of the tractor; and the dot of the 'i,' the driver's head.
