Regular cub cultivators on a cub lowboy?

Postby 1978cub » Tue Feb 21, 2017 11:02 am

Does anyone know if regular cub cultivators will fit onto a cub lowboy? (Can all the shanks just be raised up the 4 or 5 inch height difference?) Thanks

No. First off you won't be able to raise them high enough to clear the ground, because the linkages will bind. Second off they will interfere with the rear tires on a Loboy.

And it will run into the bottom of the pan and bell housing before you get it out of the ground.

You could make a rear mount cultivator, that would work, but seeing what you were doing, would be difficult.

No.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Just pretending you could, you would be knocking over your crop, rubbing the underside of the tractor, long before the crop got big enough to shade out the weeds. This is the reason there was a hi-clear version, to be able to continue cultivating longer into the growing season.
