Actually I covered that thought. I didn't just do a one time calculation. It took several tries to dial things in. I started with an inch in the crucible, measured with a steel rod, pour two castings and measure again. If there was more than an inch, start over and subtract a couple cans, less do the opposite. After several attempts things locked in at 175. I melted a lot of cans that day, a bunch of set down time on the stool2nd issue is that even if Rick could pour most of the aluminum, there has to be some left in the crucible.
