I bought a 51 Cub long time ago it came with one broken rock shaft cap and one brokrn bolt in the hydralic unit and these repair pieces were installed in 1972, the unit did work with a bit of slop in the shaft. The four drilled holes in the plates were for the torque tube bolts that secured the plates solid to the tube, the closed opening on the bottom plate in the pic slid over the rock shaft and controled the slop from the broken cap, the top plate in the just slid around the rock shaft but did nt hold it in any way. Just thought ya'll might find these bits interesting, there wall hangers now I repaired the hydralic unit and bought good caps from a farmallcub member

Wow. Interesting, an inventive farmers fix. Nice sized plate.
