Installing IH Danco C-3 mower

Postby Firebeetle78 » Sat Apr 28, 2018 7:21 am

Hello, I currently haveA Farmall cub with a wood's belly mower and need to replace it with a Danco C-3 mower. I'm not sure if I have all the parts to the mower and do not have a manual to aid in installation. Does anyone have any photos of one fully connected and operational?

Can't help with a picture but after your second post you can access the manuals section at the Quick Links tab (top left corner of this page). I believe the manual you're looking for is there. Oh yeah, Welcome to the Forum

Ditto to what Al said....The mule drives are different depending if you have a Reg Cub or Lo Boy..Mostly its just twisting wrenches, installing belts and hooking a chain...Just make another post and do the manual thing...Welcome to the site...Dave :tractor:

Thanks guys. The mower came with a bracket that mounts to the PTO housing that has the two idler pulleys but I already have a similar configuration with the current mower. Didn’t know if t was necessary to remove what’s on the tractor or not. I’m thinking I’ll just try what is on there first and see if everything runs right. Thanks for the bit of insight.

I never had a woods mower so I'm not familiar with the mule drive set up...My Danco IH C3 was set up on a lo boy and I have a C2 set up on a Reg Farmall Cub...If you can benefit from the picture of that I'll post that...I took my C3 off and put a Flail Mower on the lo boy...Its a fast hitch type..So that won't help...Sounds like you can make it work..Might take a little fiddling... :D .Dave :tractor:

Don't look for trouble. Use the parts that belong with the mower you are installing.

..As Jim says, its.most definitely the better way of doing things..You can " farmer fix " a lot of things, but you can save yourself a lot of aggravation if you have access and use the the correct parts..In the long run you won't regret it...Dave :tractor:
