Tire gel

Postby DickB » Sun Apr 29, 2018 10:37 am

Having a newish 3 year old snazzy looking car, I find myself considerably out of control on how to keep it dazzling (to my eyes only, I assume). One thing I came across seems to me good for the Cub too. It is a tire gel with these touted attributes:

Advanced, long-lasting formula endures even through washing and rain
Rich gel eliminates overspray, runs, and drips providing an even and consistant high gloss shine
Protects against UV damage and browning
Advanced polymers provide lasting, high gloss protection keeping tires black with a rich, dark high gloss
High gloss shine that lasts for weeks

Without advertising the company, let me say it is a no-brains process of cleaning the tire and then applying this dazzle stuff by rubbing it in. As the list suggests, this PROTECTS the tire against sun and I guess drying out. A second coat gives the tire a gloss that might interest Trailer Queen enthusiasts. But I'm thinking mostly of a working Cub's front tires that after a few years have cracks. If I had known of this stuff when the new tires went on maybe they'd be less cracked. But perhaps this stuff might give life to the large rear tires too?

So I guess the rest of us will have to continue to live with our grubby old tires.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Well....... I thought there was a ban on advertising so I was being careful, Barnyard. But here:

I would not want you to go with dull and dirty tires.

I keep my tractor tires polished with mud and cow manure. I don't think I need to spend $10 plus to put an additional shine on them.
I have an excuse. CRS.

I find it makes them spin easier too...And It keeps the tab separating the left and right brake pedal from rusting in place...Gotta love Mud and Cow ( or horse ) manure...  Dave :tractor:

I use brake fluid on my car's tires. Works great.
