I drove this tractor around on flat fronts and just decided to try something. Oh well, lol.

Hi,
Someone might have had a 1956 - 58 Cub they got parts from, and put on the older Cub, the Fast Hitch, etc.
The larger rockshaft, with arm for the assist spring, only came on a 360719R1 Touch Control block, as far as I know.
Someone has evidently changed the left fender, it has what looks like an original reinforcement for the assist spring. They didn't have the reinforcement before the Fast Hitch came out, but I'm not sure if they started putting the reinforcement on at exactly serial number 185001, or a little before then. Maybe Jim B. knows.

The 4 Cubs we’ve owned this is the only one that has had the wire in the governor bolts. Not sure if it rusted through, broke or was cut.

Waking up the ol' Cub

Nah, it's not leaking oil. It's just marking it's territory.

I bought this Cub and equipment with intentions of selling the fast hitch and tractor and keeping the equipment. After seeing how good of shape the tractor is in (not much to look at though) and hearing it run I talked to my wife and have decided to keep the tractor, give it to our son and we are going to restore it. He is 6 right now and it may take a while to get it done but I want him to learn all about it :D

I worked on this for a little while this evening. Got the adapter on the tractor and put a roll pin in it to keep it in, measured where the pin is on the inside of the PTO and got the hand grinder and ground a radius for it to lock in. That end is good to go, got to make a bushing for the other end at work for a 1” ID to a 1 3/8” OD tomorrow.
