Shane Nelson's post looks like the solution, and thanks to his diagrams and experience I think I can get it done. Big thanks to Stan in AL for relaying. I'll update you all when I'm on the other side of the challenge.

Up to you if you want to go that route, but seems like a better solution would be to use the fast hitch rockshaft you already have with the four halves of the bearings holding it?

I just added that same piece on my fasthitch cub. determining the proper location before welding is fairly easy. Install the tranny brkt to fender, move the T/C rockshaft to the forwardmost position, install the spring rod into the trans brkt and let it stick through about 3/4 of an inch(spring adjustments may be needed) and position your new brkt onto the T/C rockshaft at that location with the rod hooked up. You can get a nice bead of weld on 3 sides at least. For maximum safety you should remove the hood  sparks fly everywhere and a leaky sediment bowl or fumes out of the gascap could proove deadly.
When I told my dad I've been misplacing things and doing stupid stuff----His reply---"It only gets better"

Unless someone welded them on the four bearing caps unbolt with the rockshaft and transfer to the other block with no issues. Easy Peasy!

Update on replacing the cracked and patched and leaky TC with an early casting one:
So far so good: a new helper spring bracket got welded on to the rockshaft from the early casting touch control, which I rebuilt with a kit from TM. It was terribly rusty and seized up and I could not get into the deepest sockets to get to the smallest o'rings, but lo and behold, it's all back together and on the tractor and works with plenty of power and no leaks that I can see. Thanks again for all your help everyone.
