thanks for the paint tips, I still want to one day do my other tractors n imps all shinny n new looking in red but this pink one will be all white and I'll see how well it works out as a real working tractor.

make sure you prime with a good sealer or could bleed thru the white and be pink again.

I don’t see any problem painting it white as long as it’s not passed of to someone as the real deal. It’s your tractor. Go for it!

Not planning on ever selling it. But will also let son know it is a 1950 but it's not a demo number. Just painted like one.

If the worst that happens is a little harassment from the correct police, do what you want with it. Others have done more creative things than a "fake Demo"

I like the red white n blue combo on em. Have the tractor white; lights, toolbars, weights n wheels red; and cultivators n plow blue. Was the plan. I'm heading to North Mississippi to get a 5' bush hog (mounted to finals) and a A-295 2 bottom plow tomorrow. The soga continues... I got rust n restoration in my veins. Always looking for next project :)

I never understood the white demo program. Idiotic in my opinion. Hopefully the guy responsible was transferred to the kitchen appliance division.

I'm not clueless, there is plenty info. I just think it was a dumb idea.

IH has always done creative paint schemes/decal-ing for their various demonstrator programs, caseIH has continued. I have never seen sales figures for the Mid-Century Program but I've read enough to lead me to believe it boosted sales for a while. Heck the fact that people are talking about it 68 years after the fact indicates they must've done something right....

Must agree Al, I see more IH's here in Mississippi after 1950. Mostly 50-55 and then less of the 40s or 60s of even same models. So just redneck estimation suggests that the demo program worked here
