so other than the bent rod, is there any difference in gear shift assemblies between a lowboy and a regular cub?

Hey BR,
The cover and the underside are all the same.
Thanks,
Buddy

The bent rod cover has a pin that keeps the lever from rotating.

Hi,
There are a few parts that are different between the 2 types of shifters.

Like Jim said, there is a pin to keep the lever from turning, and the cones welded onto the levers are different, to use the pin on the curved lever.
If you bent an originally straight lever, it would turn around to any direction. IH made the curved lever so it does not turn to the sides.
Below are pages from the Cub parts manual showing the levers. The pin is number 11 in the pic.

Below are listings at TM Tractor for new levers, the curved one has a solid piece of metal, which is different than original, it looks like from the parts pic above. You can see the slot for the pin.

Hey BR, Jim and Buddy have you covered.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.
