It's starving for gas once the bowl empties it sounds like. Check the fuel flow from the tank to carb and also make sure the float is adjusted right. You may need to adjust the carb a little as well. Once those are checked I'd put a timing light on it and make sure the timing is correct, sounds like it's off a tad.

Hi,
The gas strainer under the gas tank needs cleaning every 250 hours of use, the Cub owner's manual says.
Below is a page from the 1955 Cub owner's manual showing the strainer.

http://farmallcub.com/rudi_cub/www.clea ... e%2032.jpg

It is easier to get to the strainer if you move the Touch Control arms to the rear position before beginning.
The screen above the bowl can get plugged with dirt or rust from the gas tank.
If the gasket above the bowl is old, it might not seal if you reuse it. TM Tractor has a new gasket, and screen.

You could do a gas flow test. Be sure the gas valve is fully open. Remove the small plug at the bottom of the carburetor, and catch the gas in a large, clean can. Then you can put it back in the gas tank later.
Let the gas run out for about 1 minute. The gas coming out first is what is in the carb. After that, there should be a steady flow, without stopping.

You didn't say if the gas tank is clean or rusty.

If the gas doesn't flow good enough after cleaning the screen in the strainer, and you checked the flow, and can see that the strainer is the problem, someone posted on here that he had debris from the gas tank get in the gas strainer, and get caught inside the passage in the strainer. He had to take the strainer off, and apart to clean it out.
Be gentle with the strainer, it is soft metal. The carb is soft metal also.

It looks like there is something sticking out of the hood, I can't see what it is in the video.

Remove your gas cap and see if it still happens, maybe it's internal vent is clogged

I agree it is starving for fuel. Even when it is running between incidents, it doesn't sound 100% healthy. When was the last time it was tuned up completely? Almost sounds like its not running on all four cylinders....
