L54 extension?

Postby sdurnal » Tue Oct 30, 2018 9:03 am

Sorry if I've posted this before, but looking for ideas on extending the blade approx. 16". Reason is this: I have a horseshoe driveway, and plowing snow I always have a wheel in the snow on the turn. Straight ahead is no problem. I figure after all this time, someone may have done it before. Otherwise, torch and welder, I guess.. Thanks. Regards,

I been thinking about side extensions for my snowplow that are straight when your pushing straight but would angle when we turn the plow as we turn the tractor the area is plowed other wise we would miss it.
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.

I guess I'm down to a steel plate, a couple of blocks of wood and a sledge hammer..

Bolt on plates????---that way they could be removed if ever needed. Getting the shape will be the hard part, but possible.
Mine really won't handle the base length, so I never wanted anything wider, but I see your need and wider is bout the only way to go. thanks; sonny

I’m thinking to hinge the extensions. When the plow is straight the extensions are turned a tad inward. When the plow is angled to the right the left extension I out to the left while the right extension is more towards the right. The left angle is opposite the right.

I have four fcub plows. Maybe slice one up. Not sure yet.

I’ll take out my mechanical CAD system to see if it works. No electronics here just paper and a pencil is where I do my best work.
