Final drive

Postby Cubguy53 » Fri Nov 30, 2018 9:33 am

Hey guys. I have a 49 cub that I bought a while back. It came with the brackets that go on between the final drive and the draw bar. I had to take the draw bar off to check the fluid in the final drive so I was going to put the brackets on and the bolts are too long. When I took the draw bar off there was a rectangle plate that was put on before the draw bar, I also noticed the bolts weren’t very tight but didn’t think anything of it. In order to get the bolts tight I had to put the plate on, the brackets, the drawbar, and two washers so I’m thinking I need shorter bolts. Any body know what size bolts I need? I hope I made sense. Thanks!

Yes shorter bolts. There is a few ways depending if you want fashion or function. Tapered bolts are 5 each or more.

Example: 5/8 light truck wheel studs with tapered lug nuts. Should be available at any auto supply for about $3 each.
