Re: Non-runner at auction near me
I would either go over to the auction an hour or two before it starts. Carefully check out the tractor and anything else of interest.
I have gone to auctions to check out Cubs for sale. Inspected the tractors, left before the auction started.
Trailer. If it's more than a 1/2 hour drive one way, take the trailer.

I have an excuse. CRS.

I may have to fly in and check it out.

There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Never seen an airplane pulling a trailer. Be cool though

The military C-17 Globemaster can carry approximately 45 Cubs in its cargo hold. That should be sufficient.

BUT, can it pull a trailer?

I may be mistaken, but I believe the auction is Dec 19. He was going to try to get a look at it today.
...And...??

Re: Non-runner at auction near me
Went and checked out Cub today. It is at best a parts tractor. Checked oil stick and found water in oil. We could not turn engine with fan, has welded up left final, rear wheel rims rusted out, tires don’t hold air, carburetor cobbled up with pipe fittings, no water in radiator, found mysterious plate welded to front bolster, just to a few of issues the tractor has. On the positive side, sheet metal was straight and inside of gas tank was pretty clean. It is 6 volt system with distributor.
Tractor has not run for more than 10 years and has sat outside all those years. Serial number is 18160
I may go to auction to see what it sells for, but definitely will not be dragging my trailer over there.

Re: Non-runner at auction near me
Place your bets now, I’m guessing $250. It is a weds auction and winter time near Christmas. I’m thinking there will be a lot of lookers holding onto what money they have and being locked up etc, it may not bring that much.

"Astonished" can go in either direction. Did you mean low or high in "astonished"?
I'm with Shane on this one. I think it may not bring $200.

Re: Non-runner at auction near me
My guess is $550.00, May not be worth it but it’s an auction. Someone will have the money!
