Seat mounting Bolts stuck

Postby Command52 » Mon Jan 21, 2019 2:03 pm

I am stripping the rest of my tractor and The seat post bolts that go into the rear are still froze up , Ive been spraying them for a few weeks, Is there a problem heating the rear where the bolts thread into and get them out that way Also is there suppose to be 2 bolts or 3 I see 2 but there is signs where a 3rd may have been on the bracket unless that was for adjusting Thank You Billy

You can heat that area, no problems. Only 2 bolts, the bracket has 4 holes so you can move it.

Those bolts can be real buggers, especially on a tractor that has a toolbox or the remnants of one because dirt and grime accumulates in the resulting pocket, holding moisture and rusting the entire area.

Heat and an impact wrench on it's lowest setting are your friends.

Hi,
Below is a page from the 1955 Cub owner's manual, showing the seat adjustment.
