Radiator Cap

Postby aei707 » Sun Feb 03, 2019 10:47 pm

I just bought a 1948 cub. It needed some work, I hope to start it up next weekend, waiting on parts. My question is about the radiator. I bought a new radiator and I was wondering if the cap will be a non pressureized or pressureized. I don't want to make a pressure cooker. Thank you

You can get away with a 7psi pressure cap in most cases. I switched mine back to a non-pressure a few years ago, but might go back as I'm tired of mine purging small amounts of coolant randomly. Your individual results may vary.

Don’t forget to prime the oil pump if it hasn’t been started recently.
