Sheet metal repairs!

With the help of a forum member, and a good friend with welding skills, I was able to have this missing piece of my hood patched up. Finally, I can see the light at the end of the restoration tunnel!

looks very good , keep your welder happy . common in the "oil" belt . but, very hard to come by on the fly . my neighbor is "tested" in almost all types of welding . alloys , exotic metals , it is impressive . he is always in a fluid situation though . maybe too much work . coppersmythe..............................................ps: bring your welder doughnuts and coffee . i have a 1/4" thick solid stainless steel bbq pit with welds that look like they have been smoothed with a flapper wheel . but they have not .

I brought my welder a container of that red pepper I ground last fall. There is also a garlic patch and some peanuts for him come this summer and fall.

Did you have a donor hood or was if fabbed from scratch?
