Well Henry fired up after his major surgery. A little priming needed for oil through the pump plug and a little bit of prayer. So through all of this I can now say that I'm an experienced cubber in front end splitting, engine pulling, fan pulley's, bearings, rings, valve lapping, and finding more unique ways to use curse words.
Thanks to all who helped me in getting it all back together. (Oil pressure still reads high so I think I'll just do what's natural at this point and replace the gauge).
Looks like no night in the rain for Henry tonight Pat.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.
My wife says I don't listen to her. - - - - - - - - Or something like that!

OK Scotty!!!
Now, tell us, (us being those of us who cannot remember their middle name) exactly what you did to henry's ears to make him recover??
I know I saw several posts about various welding shops, but I'm not sure that I ever found out exactly what you opted to do. I probably did find out, and just cannot remember....

400,
Yep, I went ahead and had the ears welded. Against lots and lots of good sound advice, I went the easy route. Had the cracks ground in, heated and nickel welded.
How long will these last? Only time will tell and when it happens again, hopefully I'll have the cash on hand for a block and a full rebuild kit. Several years down the road that is...
