tarawa, the hoods, emblems, and grilles were changed some through the years.
The hood you have was made for different emblems than a 1961 Cub had.

Below is a page from the 1955 Cub owner's manual, showing the hood you have, and the original emblems it used.

Below is a page from the 1959 Cub owner's manual, showing the next style of hood and emblems.
The emblem in your pic looks like the correct one for a 1961 Cub. :)
