Welcome to the website.
Below is the 1955 Cub owner's manual. The experts on here recommend reading it. It has lots of info about operation, maintenance, and lubrication. There is a table of contents on page 1. There are wiring diagrams in it. Page 50 has a pic of without the hood on.

IH changed the hood and grille style during 1958 at serial number 210001. The light switch was also changed then from the 3 position switch, to the 4 position switch.
The 3 position light switch is rectangular, the 4 position light switch is round.
You should know the Cub's serial number if you are going to make the wiring like original. The manual above has wiring diagrams for before 210001.
