Hard to Decide...What's your Opinion

Postby therocket » Wed Nov 30, 2005 9:59 pm

I've got a 1962 International Cub Loboy which can be considered in "Work Tractor" condition appearance wise and all. I use this one for snow plowing. I also have a restored to "Good" condition 1960 Farmall Cub that has been my tractor that I bring to the shows. I love to work my tractors and am real hesitant to put a snow blade on the Cub and muck her all up and thereby lowering her value. I've often contemplated selling the Cub cause she really doesn't get run much except when brought to the Shows or run around the neighborhood. This is a tough choice to either work the old girl as she was meant to do or just kinda stare at her in her pretty dress and say "Man she's beautiful". Let's her your opinions guys on what you'd do. Thanks.

Powder and paint make 'em what they ain't. Beautiful tractors can be worthless and ugly ones can be priceless.

Put that tractor to work!

I have more fun playing and working with mine than looking at them.

I have seven, soon to be eight that would fit in the trailer queen category... but the only thing that keeps any of them from working is not enough jobs or implements. Use doesn't hurt any of them... it's abuse that should be avoided. Matter of fact it's the ugly ones that are as likely to go to shows. Scruffy and Rambo (both ugly) earned respect at two CubFests while pretty ones stayed home.

Shorty isn't home yet... I just got this first painted picture of him tonight. (He's about 100 miles away... closer to Bigdog) He'll be doing something just as soon as I find something for him to pull.

Casper already has dibs on this job:

Scotty is looking forward to the plowing detail:

Here's Tyke getting ready to plow snow:

My point is... don't be afraid to actually use your Cub. It will love you for it.

Image to all said above.

Use the Cub for what it was meant :!:

Work it, appreciate it, let it earn it's keep. Trailer Queens, like Hangar Queens are more pain than they are worth. To keep a Cub in good shape, it has to work.

Plowing snow IS NOT gonna muck up that Cub. If anything, it will just make her nicer and more interesting when at a show. There will be interesting stories to tell :!:  :D 8) 8)

don't sell it and also don't be afraid to use it. When you do use
it just think how long its been around and how many years it
was stored outside ran, snow, and whatever else. Then when
you get it good and dirty and you clean it up a little you'll think
you have that much of a better tractor not only for looks but
that works too!!!! :D :D
