I Gotta Fix That Cub Locator

Postby Barnyard » Sun Nov 17, 2019 9:50 pm

I thought I had it turned off as I cruised the countryside with my smaller trailer this afternoon. I am trying to cut back, but this one happened to jump on the trailer and hitch a ride back to the barnyard. I reckon I will keep this one around.

Bill, if you want to cut back, quit cruising the countryside with your trailer!

That’s a good one! Nice how those expensive stainless emblems are all there. They don’t do anything for function but can add a lot to the cost of a restoration if their missing.
Try buying an original McCormick emblem now, some folks think their made of gold.

Bill, (Drifting) can I ask what that trailer set you back? Looks nice! My single axle 6x10 landscape trailer is fine for a Cub but not for the A’s I’ve been bringing home. Been thinking about upgrading again.

$2900 all said and done with tax, It came with brakes both Axels, I added removable fender, mount for winch, upgraded electrical. Had to pick it up in in Manheim PA after it was built. Did that on one of my Virginia runs. When I was looking for a trailer, I couldn't find one local near that price. There was one down by my Virginia place that was about same price, but didn't have the extras and only had one axle that had brakes on it, some states don't allow those.

You got a good price. I just bought an aluminum I beam boat trailer with 2 axles, brakes on both, stainless brake lines, radial ties with spare, guide poles, extra bunks and LED lights. All the bells and whistles wasn’t cheap, $4,600.
Ya you did well. ;)

I think Bill is working his to needing a new trailer for his next Cub forays, one like this ;)

The previous owner said it hasn’t run in several years. I gave it fresh gas and a good battery today and it sputtered a little bit and then died. The throttle lever is froze so I will work on that. It should be running in no time.

Nice! Glad it should be simple fix.
Did that cub come with or had a planter on it, I see what looks like a gear on the side of it.
