Postby goxu1 » Mon Feb 03, 2020 8:35 pm

Can someone show me what an original ID on a '57 cub looks like ?

Hi,
Below is a listing from TM Tractor for a new serial number plate. This was the style used in 1957, and other years.
The plate has no model name for the tractor on it, or serial number.

The plate is the same as the 4th pic on the page Bill V in Md posted above. :)

Was the original exactly the same as the new ?

Here are pictures of originals. To exactly match it, you would need to silk screen (or equivalent inking) the model and stamp the serial number with a matching font.

No , mine is a reproduction.
I was wondering if the "CUB" in the top space was originally stamped or printed.
CUB is stamped on mine.

the only thing stamped is the serial # , it should look like the one in the pic, no cub serial tags had cub stamped in it, the repros are not made correctly

Thanks , that was I assumed but wasn't sure.
I was hoping there was a more accurate repro.

the pic is a decal, it is made to lay over the factory tag, the cut outs are for the serial # to show through, so you keep your factory tag and it looks new
