New loader install

Started the install of the loader today got the base on and tomorrow’s the hydraulics and lights

That green is damn well coming off and will be replaced with an appropriate RED lol

I was also thinking of mounting a beam between the rails of the loader. slung under the tractor and coming up to the two points on either side of the bell housing, then bolting to that for added support, it might take away some of the load off the mount at the front of the tractor. Any thoughts? Or should I just bolt on a bracket down the side of the engine And bolster the mount that way or both?

since loaders destroy tractors, I would say add all the bracing you can. ---dont take much to snap a cub in half!

I’m thinking I will add both as the tractor is still at risk with the plow. if I just do the loader it will do no good when it’s not there and the plow is on the tractor.

Day two and the loader is on and still lots to do will turn rims add weights next

That sure looks like a heavy loader. Hope it all works out for you. I am sure it's pretty handy.

The bucket will be cut down to size. It was used to scrape out barns and was made extra wide it will be a lot smaller and lighter, when done will use for loose And bags of soil for gardens. Maybe loose snow in winter that hasn’t had a chance to freeze down yet.

Hello hope the holidays were good to everyone so I have had the loader installed for over a year and a half now and it is very handy. I have put bigger ( wider) front tires on the tractor and even put electric power steering from a Nissan car on it. As long as u know the limits of a cub your good. I had to have a pacemaker installed Nov 2020 and that bucket helps. The only thing that is something to think about is that tractor is dedicated to a bucket now and u will need another cub or 2 for everything else. Lol I now have Peter a 1950 with a blade.

I moved my IH1000 to a 130 after about 5 years on cub. It worked well on the cub but a lot better on the 130. I suggest you look into double wheel weights in the back and chains for mud or snow. The loader takes a lot of weight off the back wheels.

That said, the loaders do not break tractors. The operators break tractors. You have to think of these loaders as the worst loaders you ever used but the best wheelbarrows in the world. I use mine all of the time to move material and logs and skids. You are not going to dig a basement or put in a septic system with these. Most do not have downforce. They are gravity down on hydraulics.

It will serve you well on a cub as long as you have modest ambitions as to what it will do and do not abuse it.
