A different carb question

Postby cowboy » Sun Dec 18, 2005 9:37 am

I rebuilt the carb this summer when putting it together and when testing it to see how strait I had gotten it. The last 1/4 to 3/8" when sliding the carb halves together. I got hard (sticking) and felt like the it air bleed tube was binding in the lower half of the carb. Is this supposed to be a tight fit or possibly some more gumed up carb I have to clean :?:

Billy,

It should slide freely. Let us know what you find that prevents it.

I think I had at least one where the venturi, which projects from the upper half, wanted to bind going into the lower half.

Well looks like its put off for another week or so depending on how hetic next weekend is. Went out looking for #drill bit set I was suprised that sears did not have nor did tsc. Found one at a harbor frieght store but it only went down to .040 and I did not care for the quality. I need to get one now that I have a drill press anyway should have gotton one quite some time ago.

Billy don't forget George took those readings with the 60 to 80 numbered drill bits. A standard set goes from 1 to 60. No 1 being the largest. These large numbers are like hair widths.
