Low Boy hitch part - What is it??

Postby hannahscub » Mon Feb 08, 2021 1:46 pm

I removed these brackets from a 58 Low Boy that I bought. They were bolted to each final drive and the previous owner fabricated and angle iron hitch bolted to these. Can anyone tell me what these are? I have since bought the correct brackets and hitch for the Low Boy. If anyone can ID or want to buy let me know.
Thanks, Ed

those are hard to come by, the replace the lower fast hitch mounting plates so you can also have the standard tow bar bolted to the tractor also, they were sold by woods and mott so their mowers could bolt and without changing the mower mounting brackets

Thanks for the response tst. Is there any market for these before they go to scrap?

Ed,
Short answer, Yes, but it might take awhile for someone to come along that needs them.
I'll check with my son to see if his 1958 LoBoy with Fast Hitch and Woods 59 Mower has them or a cobbled up adaptation.

If nothing else, someone can use them to make drawings to put on the archives.

Don't scrap them just yet.

Put a price on them and put an ad in the vine. Since they are hard to come by, somebody might pay a good price for them. I would also put an ad in Craigslist, FB Market Place and any of the numerous FB Cub pages/groups.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

So far, Paul and Ringo have arrived. John and George were supposed to follow ages ago, but apparently have gone awol. Long story.

If you want to send them to me for a week or so, I’ll draw up some fabrication drawings for the future Cubbers who need to make some.
