I see what you mean on price! That is sobering. I have a new copy of the book and have found it to be a nice reference and addition to my Cub reference library. Looking on Amazon I see it available for $79 + change for a used one and $200+ for a new one. Almost as much as a parts tractor.

The copy down here is $89aud , which is about $68 usd , so its in the ballpark
I was just wondering if its worth the $89 or not.
I bought the cub encyclopedia that was released a while back , but didn't rate it much...

I have a copy that I bought when it was first published, for about $30 US. I certainly wouldn’t pay any more than $89 AUD, though.

I have bought both books. I have read both books cover to cover. In my opinion if you own the double authors book. There is no need for purchasing the single author. Don't get me wrong I still own both books. I would not let either one go. I just would not purchase one. It was close to reading the first part of one of the books twice. There's only some much information to cover on a tractor.

We're writing the best book on the "Cub" on this forum. It's just not organized for an easy read.

I have that book too!

I think I got my copy from overstock.com when I ordered some other books!

I was disappointed that it was printed in Hong Kong! :(

It is worth $20 in my opinion..... Mine says the price is $24.95usd / 39.95can on the back cover! I paid less than that!

It is a really great book, I read it probably 10 times, looked at the pictures probably a 100 times. The part about the last Cub being delivered with a letter from International Harvester was a little sad but an interesting part of the story and the end.

I have that book and wouldn’t part with it but while it is worth having I wouldn’t pay more than $25 for it. Anything over that is gouging.
Watch ebay or amazon for a good price on a good used copy. One will come along if your patient.

That is a good idea, if you can find a used one that doesn't need much work, jump on it. Maybe it has missing pages, or maybe needs the binder redone. A lot of times it doesn't take much work to get it library ready.

Did you already buy the local book at the higher price? Can you return it? That may be more hoops than you want to jump through...but if it were my mom, wow, she'd return a newly purchased item if she found a cheaper one for pennies (so it seemed) of savings.

Either way, enjoy the book!

Now I'm confused. Thought you stated the book near you was $68. Why does finding the same book for $20 cheaper mean: "That sucks" from you? Would have thought you'd be pleased...
