re the height of the radiator ....don't the side brackets sit on top of the radiator base ?

I laser cut a spacer and used my stainless flat surface to check again. Like Bob said , my bolster is less than good.
But even still the Clancy is leaning towards the back. Not sure if it can be forced. Maybe a radiator shop is the best bet there.
Still the side brackets are going to have to have the corners notched I think....

Keep in mind that raising the side brackets will have some effect on the fit of the hood/tank, and thus some effect on interference of the hood with the radiator cap. I don't know if the thickness of your spacer will be enough to have a notable effect.

Hi Jim , the spacer I cut was only so I could measure the squareness on the bench.
I'm wasn't goin to use it on the cub...
I needed the hole in the middle as the core on the Clancy hung down below the base plate and therefore wasn't going to sit on the base plate.
The IH radiator was all flush with the bottom plate..

Jim makes a very good point. I would test fit the hood with the Clancy before I modified anything. The neck may sit too low to get the cap on.

I line them up side by side and the Clancy seemed to be about 5mm shorter overall to the top of the neck.
Looking at a photo of my cub when it was in one piece..(why didn't I leave it like that??) , it looks like the cap is pretty close to the hood.
Yep , that may be another problem...

Gee, you'd think they would make a exact duplicate, not "meh close enough"!

I still find it odd that a cub radiator is made in Ireland, and not here in the states!

Sorry to see that happen. Probably talking to a radiator shop first would be a good thing. I'm curious if the vendor knew it was going down under and possibly "unloaded" it knowing it had a fitment problem? If they never respond it might be best to let others know where it was purchased - that's not very good customer service.

I thought the same thing too. I should be some sceptical...
When I unboxed it I thought it may have been a return or 2nd as the base plate had a few distortions in it.
I'll wait a few days and see if I get a reply. The situation has got little chance of turning out any good as there was so much shipping cost involved.
That's the price I pay for being so far away. If it was in the US , it could be returned and another shipped out for $25 each way and that would be OK , but the vendor is unlikely to absorb shipping costs either way on this no matter who's in the right or wrong.

Yes , there won't be much in it. That's the last thing I need is for the cap to gouge into the top of the hood
