Snow Cab Beginning (2nd UPDATE)
Well, here's a couple pics of my progress on the snow cab. I already bought the red vinyl and clear plastic for the side and rear windows. I pick up the windshield next week and my 6 volt wiper assembly should come too. Next week I'm suppose to buy a sewing machine , this should be good . It's a piece of cake, right guys? Now I have to succeed since I just opened my mouth. Here's 2 pics and 2 more are on the cubfest photo host site. I'll keep everyone posted on my progress. Rick

Let's see, you fabricated, among other things, a backhoe that didn't even fit the Cub originally. Not to mention that Cubs aren't even supposed to take backhoes. Seems as though a snow cab should be child's play, and by the looks of what you have so far, that seems to be the case.
I'll be looking forward to the completed project!

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Nice work, Rick. Looks like it might be a year-round attachment, remove the side curtains for summer. Check out the seams and stitching on soft top Jeeps to see how they are sewn and count how many stitches per inch are used.
I worked in an upholstry shop as a youth, sewing machines are easy to use after getting them set up to the job at hand. The boss had me make a pair of heavy demin overalls to get used to handling fabric, cutting patterns and assembly. Then using the machine to sew it together, if you're comfortable operating machinery, is a piece of cake after you make all the adjustments so the sewing machine works with your thread and fabric.
Ya gotta practice with some scraps so you can adjust the machine accordingly. Ensure the needle, bobbin, dogs (those toothed thingies under the presser foot that advance the fabric for determining your stitch count) and thread are compatible with your fabric.

I bought an old tractor all dusty and worn,
knew nothing about her just the year she was born
I washed her and greased her and painted her red
Now she lives happily right here in my shed.
