Hydraulic Pump Drive Gear Washer

Postby oldfarmkid » Mon Feb 28, 2022 6:45 pm

Was thinking about removing the hydraulic pump and adding a touch more sealant around the lip seal I installed. Went to order a new pump drive gear washer since it looked like the old one had been reused several times. New one now lists for $ 40.64 before shipping.

Just an informational post. Could have sworn not long ago the price was $25.00

Im sure you could go to a fasten all or your local bolt and nut house and get one that would work for a couple of bucks

Not really. They are specially made.

A 3/8 inside toothed lock washer will work just fine.

At work we had equipment from italy and they used them. We got them from Bearing Distributors, McMaster Carr has them too They have a tab that fits in the key way then bend it over a flat on the nut.

The washer alone is 1/2 the price of an entire used pump on ebay or market place. Zooming in on pic's to determine if washer is healthy, then I may just get the entire pump as a spare.

Ended up going to McMASTER CARR, even though they seem to carry only metric sizes. Ordered an 8.4 mm and 10.5mm sizes, pretty sure I can get one size or the other to fit well enough to do the job. At $6.25 and $8.00, each coming in packs of 5, it's still a pretty cheap experiment. Thanks John for what I hope to be a cheaper solution.

If works post the McMaster-Carr part numbers for future reference

Case IH is pretty proud of that one!

Something that costs 25 cents to manufacture!

If the washer is not damaged, just reuse it!

I put new o-rings in one of mine, I did not buy a new washer!

Bought the o-rings from the local industrial bearing joint.

Bag of 25 for a few bucks!
