I use IH white from Tractor Supply. BPS Brand. I don't know how authentic the color is but I like it on my 2 LowBoys

Bob:

The Paint, Decals & Other Finish Questions index page has the Farmall Paint Chart, where the codes are. There are cross references to a few different suppliers. If you end up with a new one, an email would be appreciated...

White Paint

Postby gitractorman » Sat Jan 28, 2006 7:57 pm

I asked this question a while back about a 1970s vintage Cub, and Ken Updike got back to me with the message below. Their prices are good and they can tell you exactly what paint you need, and ship it directly to you.

The "correct" color of white paint for a 1970's vintage blade would be IH 935 white. This is availible at any IH dealer. If there is not one near you, try this: http://www.cngco.com/cc_gnrl_part2.html We ship nationwide.

The spray cans I used (C-2 mower parts mostly) was IH 935 from C&G. It is excellent paint, suprisingly good for rattle can paint.

The major stuff was painted with PPG DELSTAR color DAR 8665.

Can't recall excatly where I got the color codes from, but I believe it was a Cub Cadet web page. The colors are the same as the early Cadets.

The yellow is 'Federal Yellow'.

Rudi, Of course I would consult your paint chart first.... but I was a bit unsure of the white (chart says Cub Cadet) and I was young then.

I was looking for PPG because I was going to have a guy paint it and the sign for his shop was PPG..... turns out that he doesen't use it and didn't have the reducer or hardner for PPG. It worked out good because I was able to get a great job done on the white stuff at a real good price. I painted the yeller myself. PPG is also called Ditzler(sp).

If I had it to do over again I would use IH paint, got a new quart of red for Cathy when I get ready to paint.
