My latest Find...
Came across these the other day...
Thought I would share. Was only expecting to get the plow, but got the splitter and depth control and parts to the buzz saw. The splitter was built to sit on the draw bar and the chains go to the rear lift arm to rais and lower it, runs off the PTO...
Not bad for free!
Here are the pics. From what anyone can tell, is the frame for the saw origional? It is missing alot of parts, the P.O. will be looking to see if he can find them.
Sorry about the quality of the photos...
And can anyone tell me which model the plow is? Thanks.

Nice find
I especially like the splitter assembly... kinda envious... been lookin for something like that for a long time... someday..
Nice buzz saw setup too..
As for which model plow that is, I gotta say having a part number would be a help.
It appears to be a 193 or similar. Massey Harris also made one that looked similar until you got up close. Still have it here in the back yard.
If you can find a part number anywhere on the beam, that will get us much closer on ident. But if it is for a Cub it is probably the 193.
But, I am just guessing..

Actually it looks like the left hand plow of the 189. I can see the trip lock to hold it up when using the right hand plow. As for the saw I do not know much about them. If its the one that bolts to the tractor I do not see a drive assembly. Is there a shaft that the saw blade blots to I cannot tell from the picture.

I see that Cowboy came to the same conclusion while I was typing in my comment. Here is a picture of a complete buzz saw on a tractor:
http://www.tm-tractor.com/gbrochures/buzzsaw.htm
This one is missing the mounting brackets that attach to the drawbar and a shield that is in front of the blade. The missing drive parts consist mostly of the regular Cub belt pulley drive and parts to extend it 2 feet back from the standard location.

You are correct, the saw is missing alot of parts. But seeing he was in a giving mood, I was not going to leave it there!
The splitter looks like it will be a fun tool to have around, I am going to try and see how it sets up on the cub, will take pics once I do.
You are also right that it is a left side plow. Somewhere along the way the handle got bent around.

Tucker,
The depth control lever is definitely the one for a hillside plow... it lifts the drawbar from both ends to control both plows.
The latching lever looks about right.
What I think you have is the remains from converting a hillside plow to a regular 193 plow. That's what I think happened to the one I sold. The buyer thought a 193 was worth more in his area. (I included a couple standard depth levers in the deal).
You could probably plow with you have, but it wouldn't be as handy as a 193.

Hey Tucker...you made out very well indeed! You may find that a seperate 5 or 8 h.p. gas engine installed on the log splitter will be more functional than trying to adapt your Cub hydraulic pump to operate it.
If you can't locate the rest of the saw parts you need, you might have someone fabricate them for you from a Cub saw owners operation manual.

Actually the splitter runs off the PTO, you cannot see it in these pics, but there is a pump on the splitter. The P.O. said it worked well when he used it. I have to download more pics, I did put it on the draw bar last weekend and it fit nice, just a little "tweaking" to do. But it lifts up so you can transport it, should work out well once I get around to fixing it up...in the mean time, it has a nice spot in the corner of my barn.
Not sure what i will do w/ the saw yet as I am missing alot of parts and the gear box.
Will keep you posted.
