1949 Cub, magneto ignition, generator with lights. Has a cut-out, not a voltage regulator. Generator checks out OK (will run as a motor).
It was hooked up as negative ground when I got it, did not show a charge when running. Haven’t checked the ammeter yet.
Could polarity being reversed have ‘fried’ the cut-out? Could I just re-polarize the generator (with positive ground) and cut-out and have a chance that it will charge again?
