two questions

Postby herman » Mon Jan 30, 2006 11:36 am

Hi all.

This might sound kinda dumb, but I priced rear tires for my cub
8-24 and they were 192.00 apiece plus mounting. I can't do it myself because of my legs and lower back problems. Am I getting ripped off or is this a common price?

My second question is does anybody here know of a Wheelhorse forum? If so, would you give me the url? I have a '68 Wheelhorse that I am in the process of restoring. It runs good and everything, but I do need parts which are no longer available from dealers.

Thank you very much for your responses.

Herman

I'm not sure about the tires, but I think that might be a bit steep, but don't quote me on it...

On the wheel horse, you might give the ytmag garden tractor forum a try http://www.ytmag.com/gardent/wwwboard1.html

I think the tires are a little pricey. Especially not to include the mounting. You could probably buy a pair from Tucker Tire, have them shipped and then pay someone to mount them and still save money.
I think I'd shop around.

Check these tires out at Miller Tire. The next time I buy new tractor tires I'm going to take a close look at those Firestones. But everyone has his personal preferences. Larry

Where you are located doesn't seem to be too far from Middletown. Call Tom at TM tractor one of our sponsers. He may have tires off a tractor he is parting out and could work a deal with you.
