Thanks Guys:
Not only was it my pleasure, it was an honour to wear the uniform of my countries armed forces.
To those men and women serving today -- but for a little advanced age, there go I - in a heartbeat
Blair,
Yeah, it is kind of nice... and I have a lot of pride in it. One of the nice things being part of the British Commonwealth, is that in true Brit Military tradition, we are allowed to append specific postnumials (?) I must look up the proper word for that, to indicate our orders and decorations. I always append SSM after my name. I also have two bars to go with the award.
My twin has the Candadian Decoration -- so he can append CD to his name as well. The CD denotes honourable service for a minimum of 12 years, and a leaf for 24 and again for 36 I think.. I know of one officer here who has over 40 years honourable service - reg and reserve.. -- I missed my CD by about 6 months when I was retired medically.
As for:
I agree... it would be a wonderful thread. Be nice to see who, branch, trade/specialty/theatres, service periods and of course awards....

I've always wondered how many members of the board are veterans?

Different Touch Control Manual
With the continuing questions(including my own) about Touch Control, I wondered why I haven't seen a reference to this little gem I found in Rudi's manual collection: http://www.cleancomputes.com/Cub/Blue%2 ... index.html
It is the Touch Control section from the GSS-1411 (Cub Service) Manual. I found it even more useful than the other 2 Touch Control references I usually see. It includes operating theory, troubleshooting and tear-down info. It is fairly thorough and Cub specific. I don't think it is a reprint of either of the previous Touch Control resources. See what you think.
