Sorry to hear that TM

I do not wear shoes with long shoe laces. Last year I took the cub out in the pasture to take a picture of it with my horse. Getting off the tractor to open the gate my shoe lace cought on the parking brake tab. did a face plant video camera went flying out of my hand luckily I didn't get hurt. But you know I jumped right back up to see if anyone had seen me :!:

Hope you heal up quick Billy

toolman, after haveing knee surgery several years ago, and a hip replacemant over 2 years ago, I agree, crutches suck.

$49.95 for a seat and 4 wheels. It would have been nicer if it was international red. I can't find a used seat for my cub for less then $45 . My wife saw the crawler and insisted I should have bought one instead of my cub. Take care of the ankle.

Tony:
It's not the crutches that suck, it's the person trying to use them  :P
I do agree they some time to get used too.

I got some suggestions...... things you can do sitting down:
adjust the valves
drain the radiator (or come over here and try to get the drilled out plug out of my bolster),
change the oil in the final drives (if ya dont have anything mounted on them)
change the oil in the tranny
spiff up the shifter (GW has a great write up on it)
replace the bearing and seal on the PTO (getting it back in can provide hours of fun and enjoyment, if it is easy... take it out and try it again!)

And when you are recovered, the crutches make a useful tool for getting a mower out from under a Cub.

Get well soon!

Sprains

Postby allenlook » Fri Mar 17, 2006 7:03 pm

Jostev, as you get older, you'll be amazed at how long the little injuries can last. And to top it off, they keep coming back!

After about age 32, it's a foregone conclusion that your metabolism has slowed to the point that your cells no longer replenish themselves as quickly as they senesce. Although it sounds like a great way to lose weight, it doesn't quite work that way.

Tony, get yourself an air cast, pump it up to a comfortable level, and you can get back to work. Sprains are worse than fractures depending on the severity, but I've been able to work with an air cast on with an ankle that had me laid up for 6 months without it otherwise!

Tony:

Allen has a point. I got one of them thar aircasts and they are quite the piece of kit..

For a sprain they is the cat's meow... pump that puppy up and you will be walking almost normally :!:  :!: :D

I did a search on Air Cast -- wow did they ever change that site since September.... :!:  :? The Count Is Rising

This might work for you, but I haven't tried it yet -- Ankle Sprain Care Kitâ„¢

Now this is the newest improvement to the one I had... and boy does it work great... FP Walkerâ„¢

Image

The only problem is that here in Canada they are not cheap... $175.00 plus 15%HST which puts it over $200.00 bucks.. they are significantly cheaper in the US...

I have to order a new lining for mine. Here they want $100.00 bucks... gotta see if I can get one stateside...
