Picked up #2 today

Postby Psycho » Sun Apr 30, 2006 6:38 pm

Number two arrived home safely today. It is addictive!! 1948, most of the decals still intact. I think I'll leave this one in "as found" condition. Will post pic's of the implements later.

Congrats again Bob. I guess I will have to wait a little longer for my first (see my thread). Best wishes.

Great find ! Looks like mine when I brought it home almost . When I started removing the dirt and grime with some 4#0000 steelwool and real soapy water, it still looked pretty good. I would like to get a close up picture of the hood decals for placement when I paint mine. Mine were replaced and maybe painted at one time. .......RustyNuts

Yeah Rudi,

That was Al's. Smokes a bit, but runs nice. Probably have to do the rings soon. I like them restored, but after seeing all the decals in original condition, I don't know if I want to paint it. What do you guys think? I'll post some more pic's later. I have a few questions about it. Some things I've never seen before, and want to know if they're original.

Thanks,
Bob

Bob nice cub and if you like her in her work cloth then that is how she
should be .Even I like new coveralls but if there going to be dirty in 5
minutes the old ones work just fine.

At one of the RPRU shows I saw H serial 533. It still had original paint and decals. rather than restoring/repainting it, the owner had been spraying it with oil to prevent further rust.

Pictures of it are at http://home.centurytel.net/ejpuckett/Farmall%20H%20533/

The decals are hard to see in the pictures, but are still readable.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!
