Rear rockshaft

Postby Bob Roraback » Sat Jun 03, 2006 1:50 pm

Is there any way to tighten up the rear rockshaft? Are there new bushings available? Mine is very loose to the point where I can move it over 1 inch. It still works but I would like to fix it up a bit. Thanks for replies, Bob

Bob - I'm not absolutely sure but I think those bushings are still available from Case IH.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

The bushings are still available from Case/IH, several years ago Jim Becker gave me the p/n. I can't seem to find it now.

Last I knew, they were still available. Don't know of anyone trying to get them since Donny did.

The lower half is 514 548 R1, upper half 514 549 R1. I think the same is used left and right.

Expect it to still be fairly loose with new bearings.

They were still available about a year ago. By the way, as I recall the only difference between the tops and bottoms is that the bottoms have a ridge cast in to keep them from rotating, so if you end up with bottoms and need tops you can grind them down.
