BEFORE I WENT TO FAR I WOULD MAY SURE THE BATTERY IS GOOD UNDER A LOAD. YOU CAN TAKE IT TO A AUTO PARTS STORE AND THEY CAN CHECK IT. I'VE THOUGHT MINE WAS CHARGED BEFORE AND COME TO FIND OUT IT COULDN'T TAKE THE LOAD. GOT A NEW BATTERY AN BAM IT WOULD KICK RIGHT OFF WITH A GOOD HOT BATTERY.
No matter where you go, there you are.

The battery is brand new.. not even 2 weeks old yet. Nothing says that it still might not be bad.. so I will have him get it re-checked under load and at least we can eliminate that.
Now to the other issue..
Radio Shack no longer is in Canada. Inter-tan sold it to Cirucuit City and it is now the Source. Course.. they NO longer carry stuff like diodes and such. Talk about a pain in the posterior trying to find a diode. Nuts..
So I called Mr. Starter, a local starter shop. Big mistake. Talk about attitude... told the guy what I wanted to do.. said he could cut a couple diodes out of a couple of Bosch rectifiers at 2 bucks a pop. Hmmm thought I.... Then I asked him a couple of other questions... yeah he can get em and stuff. Asked him if he worked on Generators.. said Yup.. asked what voltage.. said 6v... he said. I DON'T WANT TO EVER SEE IT.. I said why? He said.. too old, no parts, guys who have tractors are cheap "@($*%<> deleted!!! and don't want to pay to have em fixed. Told him with that attitude no wonder.. but also said.. hey I want it fixed.. ball park it.. he said couple hundred...
I think I will keep looking for somebody else..... hopefully my computer/electronics repair depot might have access to diodes....
I did find out that a 161 or 168 or 169 type peanut bulb is what is needed.. I think for the idiot light if I can't find the diode... but the young pup on the NAPA desk was basically in the dark without a model/year/make for a socket..... sheesh....
What is this world coming to
Wish me luck in the morning.. I have a feeling that most of my problems are in the ignition circuit and once that is solved the rest will fall into place..

Re: Hey Guys, I need your help..
I hate to bring up an old post, but I was searching the internet and came across this cool picture!! EDIT: "This Cool Picture" meaning the one at the beginning of the post Rudi posted. It seems like the old Cubs like to have some "Air Time". We had one do the same about a year ago. "Just-a-Swinging"!!!
