replacement mower blades

Postby brichter » Thu Jul 13, 2006 2:11 pm

I have a 60" mower deck of undetermined origin and my blades are getting to the point that I need to purchase a replacement set. I can't find any blades like these. They are 22 1/2 " long with a 1" center hole and two slots on the blade to mount the blade to the spindle. The two boltholes are approximately 3 3/8" center to center. I can't find the blade with the two holes with those measurement nor can I find a 22 1/2 blade with the slots. As a matter of fact I can't find a 22 1/2" blade. Some of you cubnuts please tell me what kind of blades these are and where I might purchase a set. Thanks

Billy Ray

Billy Ray:

Any way you can take pics of the deck and the blades :?: That would go a long way in helping. I have tons of manuals for common decks for the Cub, but without a pic I have no way of knowing which deck you might have or which blades you need.

I would gladly look in the books and on the net for you, if I have an idea of what I am looking for.... :D

Also, I would consider calling Ken Updike at Carter & Grunewald. Ken would probably be able to figure it out.

BillyRay,

What you describe sounds like a typical universal 22" blade, which you can buy at any Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart, Kmart, Sears, Tractor Supply, Ace Hardware....

The slots run parallel to the length of the blade, right? That's a universal blade.

Blade lengths are not exact, BTW. The numbers are just designations.

They will charge to send you a catalog, but you can get a huge blade catalog with pictures and dimensions by calling 1-800-457-8467. Very attractive prices.

EJP told me of http://flailmaster.com/ They have a good selection and real good prices.
Also, some things are tricky like a woods 59 for a Cub runs backwards from most of the other ones.

If your is a Woods 59 I would get a hold of Ralph who has the blades in stock and good prices too....
