No Guys, that's just life in Connecticut.
Gas has finally dropped back down to $3.029, the best price for milk is $1.99 per gallon.
A one-acre building lot sells for $150k, I pay $5,600 a year in real estate property taxes per year for a 2500 sqft Cape on one acre in a town that is going to a 4th budget referendum within the next few weeks. We pay $.18 per KWH of electricity.
I feel real fortunate to have gotten my Cub with attachments for $2,750 last fall given what I've seen them advertised locally since then.
We do have four (4) distinct seasons, usually devoid of uncontrolled wildfires, tornados, hurricanes, flooding, extreme heat and/or cold. Earthquakes are a novelty and usually only cause us to wonder if we had a dizzy spell.
We can be to the beach in 45 minutes or to the mountains in 2 hours.
There are other Nutmeggers who could wax more eloquently to the reason we live in Connecticut.

In Missouri it wouldn't be cheap at one half the price.

Gee, that almost sounds like NB... at least for some stuff..

Gas: $1.069/litre of which it takes 3.86 litres for a US gallon
Milk: $3.89 for 4 litres.. milk is not a loss leader here..
Electricity is getting expensive.. not sure what it is per kw.. just looked on the NB Power Residental Rates Web Site, and I am not all that happy. I have to pay monthly rate of $19.16 for my house and $19.16 for my shop.. plus usage, plus $13.92 for my electric water heater.. plus HST. All that BEFORE I use one kwh of juice...
Taxes are #1.35/1,000.00 of evaluation, weather is great for the Maritimes.. if you don't like it, wait 5 minutes.. IT WILL CHANGE.. 4 seasons, but 2 main ones -- 6 month snow flies, 6 month black flies..

And is there anyplace else to live..

NOPE.. I likes it right here :!:

I guess it is all perspective huh :?: :?:  8)

You should move to North Branford, Connecticut...

Cub #1 1954 w/ double mold board plow, 54A grader and front cultivators = $1000

Cub #2 1953 w/ single mold board plow, 54A grader blade = $800

Both within 100 yards of my house!

FarmallCub.com = Priceless! :D

it must be one of those wife directives, "You must sell your tractor!" Now he can say, well i put it on ebay for what i had in it, and no one bid on it, so i guess we will just have to keep it." :? :) :D
