Choke rod connection to carb?

I disconnected my choke rod and I think I reconnected it wrong it is hard to see in there but I can not pull the choke rod out to allow the carb to choke. I can flip the choke open and closed manually though. Is there a diagram that shows how the choke rod attaches to the Carburetor Choke Lever?

The choke rod is on the engine side of the carburetor. The actuating lever on the carburetor is pointing downward and slightly forward when the choke is open.

Bus Driver is correct, and it is easy to get it turned the wrong way.
