If you would have put it down where it belongs, it probably would be coming off by now, if you used the mylar ones. They don't stay in place well on the double curved places. So let's say you're just thinking ahead

Rick, if that's the worst thing you do, count your blessings! It's your tractor. If you are happy with it, don't worry about what anyone else thinks.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Rick,
I never use those decals, so I can give you another if you'd like to paint the hood again.
Look on the bright side... at least you didn't use that really ugly decal that comes with the replacement cap. I know they have to send them, but has anyone ever seen one applied? Not me.
The Cub looks GREAT!!

Here's my stupid one for the day. I restored and had my Super assembled, minus the hood and radiator. Anyhow I'm stiing there thinking about the previous work, looking through my gasket set. IT HITS ME! I forgot to install the rear main seal. How? Who on Gods Green Earth knows, but I had to split the tractor again

Rick, lesson 1: you didn't make a mistake, it was done for a purpose, such as jeeping it away from any gasoline spills. Another example is about 25 years ago I owned a 63 chevy pickup. Dad owned it before me, and had repainted it twice, but the paint would just peel off. We learned later that due to a certain process used manufacturing the steel it required a special primer. When it started peeling the 3rd time I got some Orscheln rust penetrating primer, and Ford tractor blue paint, and painted it with my Wagner airless spry gun. The dew fell before it dried good and the top of the hood and cab hazed. next day I painted it again, and once again had an early dew fall. when someone would ask about the haze instead of shine on the hood I would just say It's so the sun doesn't reflect in my eyes off the long hood on the way home in the evenings. I'm not sure what I would have said if they had seen the roof.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!
you are part of the problem!!!
