This kind of rebel thinking is exactly why you need several cubs, here is my thinking:

cub #1- correct correct "trailer queen" show case model

cub #2- custom deluxe for your needs "work horse" gets the job done

cub #3- conversation starter "pimp my ride" has all the extra add ons

cub #4- red headed step child "the ugly cub" gets the left over parts

cub #5- "fixer upper" hasn't run in 15 years, needs new some TLC

that is true, we do need the correct police, how else would we know the exact amount of torque needed on our engine head bolts ect....

Ketcham- I have a funny picture in my head of you going to the store to get milk on one of your tractors.

Mmmmm the biggest disadvantage of making it 'correct' is that it looks just like any other Cub! Unless you perch a buzzard on the wings....

What is wrong with taking the Cub to the grocery store? I've done it a couple of times myself. got to exercise it once in a while!

 That remindes me of when I was young, Pa would give me a $1.50 to drive the cub a mile up the road to the Gas station and put 5 to6 gals in it. always had enough change left to buy 2 pops while I was there. Drove home and had a pop with Pop. I guess them were realy the good old days. jack :D

The farthest I drove my cub was 5 miles one way. I ran into an older feller here in Michigan that has a tractor group that travels northern lower Michigan once a year, they stay in hotels along the way, I might go on one with them this summer.

Rebel cubs indeed! There's a lot to be said about keeping your machine (be it tractor, car, plane, etc.) in original order, factory perfect...but without those experimenters we wouldn't have hot rods, snowblower Cubs, etc. Speaking of wild paint jobs, I was thinking about a green with yellow trim scheme...

Just kidding. :D

I was talking to a neighbor who has 6 Fegursons all painted different, homemade grills, rigged parts, etc. I asked if he ever tried to find original parts and restore them he told me " I don't restore em I keep em running."
I thought that was an interesting thought.

I have to agree with Paul. Would be quite a conversation starter though, in the right company. Might make some MAD! :x

I have seen sweat shirts with pix of letter series farmalls in JD colors. Bet they didn't sell many, especially to tractor people! Also a childs book at Wally- World the same way :(
