Sparkplugs

Postby Paul B » Sun Feb 11, 2007 9:39 am

Is there a sparkplug cross reference someplace, that list the correct number of the different brands of sparkplugs, for use in a Cub? I am not a fan of Champion plugs, and would rather use another brand. I use Autolite's in my Cub Cadets (Kohlers), but I don't know what the Champion D-16/D-21 equivalent's are in the other brands.

Paul - the parts cross reference on the ATIS FAQs lists AC C-86 as equivalent. Autolite 3116 (I think) should also cross.

Thanks BD.

Duh!!! Who would have thought to look in the FAQ's under "parts available". Guess it's still early and my coffee hasn't taken hold yet

Paul,

NGK has a cross-reference to the Champion plug. Donny Millar informed me of this some time ago and I have switched to the NGK. AB-6 is the plug; NGK STK # is 2910. 8)

Paul:

When I can't get the Champs, the NGK's are what I use. Excellent plugs.. and pretty well available at NAPA/UAP here in Canada as well as the US... hmm.. now that one is strange.. :?

This chart is the easiest one to use.

http://gwill.net/Album/Tractors/!Detail ... 20Area.htm

This one will tell tou what you should know for trouble shooting.

http://gwill.net/Album/Tractors/!Detail ... 0Plugs.mht

This one will tell you far more than you need to know unless you want an EXACT cross and have the time to do the research.

For some reason I couldn't make the links work so they'll have to be copied and pasted.

It's the exclamation point!!!

The NGK's were only available special order in boxes of 10 (strange number no matter how you look at it?). I found a place in Mich on ebay that sells em. Good price and he will substitute if you need plugs for your other stuff.
