the steering wheel is on a keyed shaft. removal is fairly straightforward, remove nut and slide steering wheel off. soaking it with PB Blaster several times is essential, as is heating the nut prior to removal, unless you have an air impact tool.
steering wheels are generally not difficult to remove.

We use a heavy brass drift from the bottom side of the wheel.

Mine was stuck on pretty good/bad. After a P.B. soaking I was able to tap it off from the bottom. I coated the shaft hole with never~seize when I reinstalled it.

thanks for the info. i soaked with wd-40 for a few days and used a inpact wrench to take the nut off, then used a brass drift to tap the old wheel off, then tapped the new on with a block of wood, and then hit the nut with the inpact wrench, the whole thing took 5 min.
