Battery Dead-Help

Postby therocket » Sun Jan 18, 2004 9:05 pm

Wondering if any one can help me with what appears to be a charging problem as I have recently gone thru two new batteries. The Cub will run fine once I jump start it but if I turn off the Cub it will not restart. Can anyone help me with the troubleshooting process. My Cub serial # is 16152J and has a converted 12 volt system. Thanks in advance.

Disconnect the battery and charge it with a battery charger. Hold a 12 volt bulb with contact against the post, and touch the copper side of the bulb with the cable. If bulb lights up there is a current drain, probably the alternator. Keep disconnecting items until the light goes out. This is done with the tractor not running, and the ignition and lights turned off.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!
