Value of a Middlebuster & cultivators?

Postby AP50Cub » Tue Jan 20, 2004 1:14 pm

I have a man that does not use his implements any more and I told him I wanted to buy what he has. He has a set of cultivators front and back and a Middle buster and may more. Does any one know How much the cultivators and the middlebuster are worth, I don't want to pay too much.
Thanks

Cultivators in Wisconsin bring $200 to $250. ( That is how much mine sold for at my auction last year) We never see middle busters here so I would have no idea. I assume both set of impements are NOT the single point fast hitch.
I personally would never spend over $100 for cultivators. They can be bought pretty cheap sometimes, $25 to $50.

Hey AP50CUB,

Cultivators in our "neck of the woods" usually bring $150.00-200.00/set. That buster should be worth $75.00-100.00. If he is not using them, $200.00/250.00 should get the lot. Make sure they are complete. Keep us posted :!:

Well around here a good complete set of Cub-144 Cultivators are worth between $450.00 and $500.00. I would be ecstatic if I could have found one for $100.00.

It really doesn't matter what the value is worth in an area away from you. What makes the difference is:

1. Do you want/need one?
2. Are there lots available? If not, then grab it as quickly as you can.
3. What is it worth to you to have one?
4. Based on #3, what do you think is fair? I would probably start at 50% of what it is worth to you and go from there until you strike a bargain. Just be judicious and take your time. No need to rush it.

As far as middlebusters - not common here - no one I know has ever seen one.

But again, the 4 rules apply to almost any implement or tractor for that matter.
