It was great.
The tractor is a '44 A. It looks as if it had been rolled. Everthing protruding from the body had been welded. So, big job. But in a matter of two hours we had it striped, engine out and on a stand, front end disasimbled and all part in bins to be either replaced or sand blasted.
It's going to be fun to watch the progess, I know many of you have done this many times. But think back to the feeling you had first time you did it or saw it done and that's what I'm feeling now.
The whole process is being photographed as we go. Not sure if I will be able to get photos along the way or not. I'll talk to the photo guy and see if he can email me a few each week.
The guy that has the shop just got a cub late in the fall. His first. It's a '62 and in pretty good shape. Many of the guy's where standing around talking about Cubs and they brought up the two holes in the hood. They all said "yea, don't know what those are for but they all seem to have 'em"... So I spoke up "I know what those are for... Bla, bla, bla". They all looked at me (the non mechanic) and asked "How the hell did YOU know that"! I just smiled. - Thanks guys
