That's a great, but worrysome group. Scruffy may have to lose some hood supports and a grille... just to make it fair.

Do you know if #3 uses both mowers together? If so, that should be worth a few points.

I hope the winner is within driving distance of Cub Fest 2004. This should be fun!

George, #3 would be a pretty good drive to Cubarama, but I won't rule it out. I don't know about both mowers, but I've been trying to figure out what the jar/can is on the belly mower? Moonshine or one of Jim Becker's Texas "OIL Can" size beers

The first Cubs engine & transmission looks either burnt or covered with oil. Sure is black and it dont look like paint .

1 is bad, I mean bad. 2 is considerably worse and is definitely runner-up material. But that number 3 is the most God awful ugliest thing I have ever seen in my life! That one has to win it for sure! Somebody beat that one with an ugly stick more than once....

Got to be number three! Also has anyone checked out the "It ran when I parked it" contest on the "Stovebolt Page" (Chevy). Notice the M Farmall on the coffee table!

i'm amazed that #3 runs. that can in question (I believe) is a can of Never Sieze the beginnings of a restoration

I thing I like the "Trap" in the gas line of number 1 - good for the accumilation of winter condensation.

How about that small radiator in #1. I would guess it to be about 4 X 4 !

The radiator on #1 does look small without a grille or shroud. Am I the first to notice why the engine is black? The exhaust goes under the hood without any outlet. I'll bet it's soot. Whose is it so he can confirm? Scruffy was wondering.

I have it ! The exhaust below the hood of number 1 is a gas tank heater that works in conjunction with the gas line trap for winter operation.

I was wondering of #1 has been converted to 12 volts or if the 12 volt battery has simply been installed with no conversion. Do you suppose the seat was installed like that or has leaned back during use? It looks like there may be no gas cap, which may explain the need for the P-trap built into the gas line.

The oversize, backward facing rear tires on #2 are a nice touch, as is the rockshaft extension with a fairly important bolt missing. However, the color of the hood is a major concern. If it is primer, I would disqualify it outright as being partly restored. If on the other hand it is a naturally occuring pattern from someone that has great difficulty dumping a can of gas in, I might be ready to vote for this one.

Number 3 has the wonderful patina that can only come from years of exposure to the elements. The grill extension sticking forward is a nice touch too. But the winning feature is the McCormick emblem that is being held by a single pin and running down hill until it runs into the FARMALL emblem. It gets my vote.
